screen recording stops

Is there a time limit on OBS screen recorder? My REMUX recordings ARE NOT AVAILABLE BEYOND 2 minutes though I press STOP RECORDING button IN OBS well after 2 minutes say 5 or 10 minutes. After watching the forum threads , I fixed the time limit (in out put timer /tools) as 3 hrs. But this time the recordings stopped @1.42 minutes. I am using windows 8.1.

You have a very low end computer, it's barely able to even run OBS. Video recording is a very resource intensive operation. You severely overloaded your system, and after a short time it wasn't able to write anything to the video file any more. It doesn't have to do with any time limit (there is no time limit in OBS except if you configure it yourself).

If you really must record with this computer, try to reduce the canvas and output resolution to 640x360 and reduce the fps to 15 and see how it works with this. If it still doesn't work, reduce these values even more.
