Question / Help Screen Recording Preview/Broadcast Lag on high GPU games

I've only noticed it after I first attempted to use OBS on Dead Space 3 and thought it was just a glitch. Noticed it happened again when I tried to to record BF4 and thought it would be because it was such a high GPU intensive game because even though I had these problems, I could still record LoL easily and others as well.

But I want to make sure, is this true that it doesn't work on GPU heavy games like BF4, DS3, etc? If not, then I'd like to know what options you set on your OBS to be able to capture it. Also, I want to ask as a request to try to make it work on such games as well since OBS records my games in such an easy way that I can Alt+Tab without interrupting the recording session.

OBS relies on your GPU to be as high performance as it is. If your game is using up so much GPU that OBS and the game are competing for time/power you're going to have issues. You can do things like downscale a bit more, cap your FPS in game, or start lowering in game graphics settings.

Understood, thanks!
