Question / Help Screen capture is choppy?

Kind of a newbie question, but why is my screen capture so choppy? I've used the wizard to set up my video recording, and also tried some manual settings, including Nvidia NVENC & H264, VBR & CBR at different levels. But down in the lower right hand corner, the "fps" monitor just floats anywhere between 7 to 14 fps, and I assume that's what's being captured.

My CPU usage is minimal throughout, never going over 10%.

Is it because of my semi-ancient system?

Windows 7, Intel i7 950 CPU, Nvidia K4200, OBS 24.0.3 64 bit

A ha! Disabled Aero, and solved my problem!!
