Question / Help Screen blinks when streaming live

Hey guys, I'm new to obs so sorry if this is an easy fix or something. I had my friend help me set up the program and everything looks good except when I live stream, my screen goes black for half a second and then comes back. I don't know if it is because I'm using my intel video adapter over my nvidia one but it always happens. The reason I don't use my nvidia adapter which seems to be the better video adapter is because nothing shows up when I switch to that one. When I switch over to the intel adapter, I can see my monitor capture just fine. So basically, it's either fix the blinking with the intel video adapter or figure out why my nvidia adapter isn't being captured. I'm running an nv series Asus which is rather new with an i7. Sorry I can't get the specs out right now seeing as how I'm on my phone at school. My friend says the stream looks really clear at 1080+ but the blinking gets captured as well so the viewers have to experience the flickering. Someone please help :(

I just read that I need to force obs to use the nvidia gpu so if anyone could help me figure out why it's coming up as a black screen, then that would be awesome! On a side note, whenever I try to use game capture, league of legends or cs:go never come up. I don't know why but its making game capture not a viable option for me.

I really need to make a laptop sticky thread.

Blinking is typically caused by trying to capture a fullscreen mode game with window/monitor capture. You should be using game capture in that case, or making the game run in borderless window mode.

If you are using a laptop you do indeed need to make sure it's running on the right GPU otherwise you will get a black screen.

It is set to borderless windowed and the blinking/flickering occurs even when im just on my desktop screen or on chrome.
