Question / Help Scene dependant sound selection?

I'm a new user to OBS, currently using the 0.592b version, and was hoping that someone can help me.

The current set-up I have is as follows;
my music player is foobar which outputs its sound directly to my headphones
my default playback device is set to a virtual audio cable which I then use the "listen to" of windows to hear it through my headphones, allowing me to hear all sounds.

I then have OBS set up to "capture" only the virtual cable meaning that when streaming only system sounds eg game sounds are streamed and the music I play is not.

but I am wanting to be able to play the music when on a break, and so was wondering if there is a plugin or something that allows me to choose what audio device gets captured depending on what scene I'm playing.

Thanks in advance!

You can make a 2nd cable, send foobar output to it, and make a repeater from it to your headphones. Then when you want your viewers to listen too, you change this repeater so the output is cable1 instead of speakers :)

So:

cable1, default -> OBS sound

only you listening:
cable2 -> repeater to speakers -> foobar

Both you and viewers listening:
cable2 -> repeater to cable1 -> foobar

Check out the DirectShow Audio Source plugin: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2579
Thanks for that!

I've just been playing around with it, but doesn't seem to be working, I add a DirectShow Audio Source and select my headphones as the input, which is what foobar is outputting to but it seems like no sound is getting captured!

If you're having trouble with the plugin, I recommend posting about your problem on the plugin thread.
