Hi guys,

Would like your feedbacks on 1080p@30FPS vs 720p@60/30FPS for Starcraft II only.
Viewers told me they can't watch my stream on mobile devices because of the 60 FPS, and after doing some test it seems like 60FPS vs 30FPS is very very close in terms of viewing experience.

I know it is a reccurent topic, but I didn't find any indepth thoughts about SC2 only.

720p 60fps is my vote. I love higher FPS streams. However, if the game itself can only run at 30fps or is capped at 30fps, then 1080p would be nice too.

If flash wasn't terrible I would say 1080p 60fps, but flash is too slow to decode 1080p 60fps because flash is terrible and should be wiped off the face of the planet.

..Do people watch streams on mobile these days? I guess some do, but I don't really own an actual phone so I guess I have no idea. Actually, I've never owned a smart phone in my life, never really thought about it. I guess it's because I never really leave the computer. Why have a smart phone if you always have a computer in front of you? Though that's mostly because I have nobody to call and don't go out much I guess.

Anyway, you are a special case ;)
But yeah to answer you, I know from fact thats a very high percentage of viewers watch from mobile devices, and mainly Tablets. More and more people don't own an actual computer but phones, tablets,...
As I work in IT, its pretty much the same : always a laptop in front of me BUT
- doctor appointment waiting (~45min)
- trafficjam (~1h)
- work meetings (~10H)
-...
There a couple cases where I don't have my laptop, or internet, or battery, and then can be cool to watch on my phone :)

To get back to the topic => I also prefer higher FPS streams, but the question is : can you really see the difference in SC2 ?
I can provides 2 VODs 720p30FPS, 720p60FPS if it can helps.

720@48fps or higher. 48, 54 and 60 all look smoother since our eyes are so used to YT's 24 and 30fps its definitely nice to see smoothness.
1080 is nice for card games, side motion or even low motion games such as LoL

As for mobile, I know many people that live on their phones, I often watch streams on mobile even while sitting at the computer surfing the web, in between games, or just talking on mumble. I know I can do both, but when one has a 1080 screen on their phone, its best to use it
