Question / Help Save recording if OBS is force closed

I'm having an issue where I want to record desktop/gameplay and save to a .flv file. However it seems my system or OBS will crash in the middle of the recording.

I'm left with a .mp4 file that won't open and doesn't play (it is corrupt I guess).

Is it possible to fix the corrupted video file? Or is it possible to set OBS to save the file before system shutdown even if the recording is still on?

Your text is a bit confusing, you say you want to save as flv, so why dont you do that?
You can remux the file later to mp4 if needed and it will be pretty much crash save.
