Had quite a day on Saturday the 13th not only was mercury in retrograde I just realized it was the 13th. Ran the first session completely fine, stopped it waited about five-ish minutes restarted for the second session 10 minutes early and it was running fine. I Mic-ed back up the guest, restarted recording on the cameras, went to go live and I noticed that all the comments were saying “THE STREAM IS DOWN, THE STREAM IS DOWN”. I had an exclamation on my Crowdcast Studio dashboard, something about the frame rate I think … forgot to take a screenshot in the heat. Went back to OBS to restart the stream couldn't get it to stop the streaming engine.
for some reason it locked up the streaming encoding engine and wouldn't let me stop it without a “Control+Alt+Delete” and starting a new instance.
And I had a hard time getting the CC.io studio engine running again. no crash report :_(. all of this happened within 10 minutes after we were supposed to be Live back from the break.
it's worked well the last three months really well, Only settings changed since other than a couple updates here and there and just noticing that I missed the “Keyframe intervals” setting on the recommended settings page. And I am going to Try the "network optimizations” for next time.
the Crowdcast diagnostics graph says a lot the inbound bitrate coming in was really choppy, and sort of confirms my suspicion’s. I've noticed that in the afternoon-evening at the hotel we are more likely to have Internet issues around 3PM EST.
I need to get my PFSense router set up, the internal graphs might have showed me that.
Crowdcast recommended settings:
Resolution: 1280x720 (720p)
Video bitrate: 2000 - 3000kbps
Audio bitrate: 64 or 128kbps
Frame rate (FPS): 30
Keyframe intervals: 2 seconds (do not use automatic keyframe intervals)
