Question / Help Running two capture cards and encoding

Question is what the topic states..running two c985 cards in the same PC. I had to build a new PC to accomodate the second card..current board only supported one PCIe x1 slot. My real question is this...I'm sure each card will be seen by the board and windows with each having it's own seperate bus number....now in the OBS program I should be able in my scenes bring in either of the cards...or both in the same scenes if I want. Now with both capture card feeds coming into OBS, will I need more CPU for encoding or rendering before the feed is sent to twitch? I already ordered the system, and went with AMD 9370 proc. Each c985 card will be receiving video seperately via hdmi from two seperate PC's..please tell me all this will work as intended??

It should work, and it should be a negligible amount of extra CPU power. The big work is still encoding the video you plan to stream, which is a function of the resolution, frame rate, encoder preset, amount of motion, etc.

I had some issues getting this to work....the biggest issue was having the hdmi cable in the output of the card instead of it being input side....could have swore I double checked that..lol...once I got both feeds coming into the c985's...OBS would see both cards basically as the same card. The OS(win7_64) separated the bus for each card...but OBS seen both as being on Bus #5...instead of one on #5, and the other on #6. After reading another post...others are having the same issue....one person said it used to work....so I went back a ways to OBS version 0.522b...and it is working fine...showing both cards as separate devices like it should..one on bus 5, one on bus 6. I downloaded and ran the newest beta 6.0...it has the same problem as 0.59 version.

That's the easiest fix I found for this is the older version of OBS.....
Hopefully a developer will see this and address current builds.

You tested on 0.60 test 9? You should post on the test thread to let them know if it isn't working correctly.

Could you please check the file "dshowDevices.xconfig" and paste the contents of it in a post here? The file is in %APPDATA%\OBS\pluginData.

Please run a newer version of OBS first (0.592b or later) to make sure that the contents of the file are accurate.

Edit: Also, could you please test this build and see if it fixes the issue by any chance? http://www.apehead.se/obs-bibbers.zip
