So I'm currently running OBS and Im able to stream my desktop. But when I load a game the stream doesn't pick up the game. I could be playing it and my viewers are only seeing my desktop and my mouse moving around. What could be causing this?

And also what program or hardware should I use to stream online computer games?

thanks!

Couple of questions for ya. Are you using Screen Capture? What game are you trying to cast? Game Capture, even though its experimental, it's the best way to capture games. Even fullscreen games which is what I think you're describing

You can't use FRAPs with OBS

You should be using the built in Game Capture feature for streaming fullscreen games.

You don't need a capture card. OBS can do the capturing

Add a scene then add a "Game Capture" source to capture a DirectX game (DDO probably uses DirectX)

Use "Software Capture" to capture your normal windows desktop/screen OR to capture games that are running in a "windowed" mode (not fullscreen)

Great thanks. So my current issue now is I got a slight delay for viewers. I had my stream open on another computer and there was like a 8-15sec delay.

Is there ways to improve this?

As well as running it almost where its instant and of better quality?

Thanks

Your stream will have a 3 - 4 second delay for processing. Anything beyond that is based on your connection to the server.

Well I have a ping of 28ms and my DL speed is25.54mbps and my upload speed is 3.81mbps.

Would this be good enough to stream?

you will always have on average, a 5 - 10 second delay between what you are doing, and what your viewers are seeing. It's simply the time it takes for you to send your stream to the streaming website, and for the website to display your stream.

Always use Game Capture for fullscreen games.
