Question / Help Running Elgato GC HD Blackscreens

Hello,

I received my Elgato Game Capture Card a few days ago and set it all up with OBS. I have noticed a few problems though when I was livestreaming Black Ops 2 (PS3). When I start my stream it blackscreens my monitor for a few seconds and sometimes it randomly stops my stream which is pretty annoying since I livestream with a delay on it takes a few minutes to restart the stream everytime.

Are there any solutions for this problem?

What exactly do you mean when you say it blackscreens your monitor? That doesn't sound normal, I've never heard of that happening before

i got my elgato hooked up to my laptop & ps3 and got everything set up in obs. now when i click start stream the monitor i play ps3 on gets blackscreened for a few seconds. now i heard this was normal using the elgato game capture card. but it also happens randomly mid stream. i think this is caused by some failure during the stream because everytime that happens the stream gets disconnected and it says ending stream.

could it be that i did something wrong in the settings and something is unable to run while streaming which is causing a failure in the programm that it stops the stream?

If you're saying that the signal from the PS3 -> elgato -> TV (and not just the OBS preview/output) has a black screen on occasion, then it may be a problem with the elgato. You may want to go to their website and check to see if there are any firmware updates or anything.
