Roll20 as Browser Source loads 5 instances?

Trying to reduce the load on my computer while streaming with OBS, I did some investigating and discovered that if you load Roll20 through a Browser Source, it loads 5 Browser Source instances (I discovered this by examining the processes on my Windows machine through the Task Manager; with Roll20 as a browser source it was running 5 more obs-browser-source.exe instances than without Roll20). It doesn't do that with any other site I load as a browser source. Any ideas why?

Thanks,
WindyJ

I have the same problem but it's loading 5 browser source instances (confirmed in task manager). I tried it in an empty profile and scene collection. I just added one browser source instance.

In my production scene collection I have 7 in use out of 12 total browser source activated and 2 browser docks from Restream and that's it. This means I have in total 9 active browser sources but OBS Studio is showing 28 browser source instances.

This is absolutely unacceptable behaviour. I've made 3 posts about other serious issues with OBS and they got NO replies at all. I then created 3x tickets on OBS Github and they're all unanswered as well.

We're using OBS Studio professionally and we'd like to at least be answered.

Thank you.

Strictly speaking, it's not 5 browser source instances. It's 5 browser processes.
The reason for the additional browser processes is because of how and what the site you're adding loads.
With the way the browser separates rendering and processing load, having that load separated across 5 processes or having it all in 1 process doesn't matter, it'll still take the same resources.

Okay, that makes a great deal more sense, thank you.

The source code is open. Feel free to download it, modify as you need, and build your own custom version.

OBS is made by volunteers and supported by volunteers. We do this because we love it, not because we're obligated to anything. That's why it's free, and has the features and behavior that it does. If you must blame someone and demand an immediate fix, then it's not for you. Go pay someone for that.

If you're okay with understanding it yourself and being your own support, with more of an equal-peer attitude towards the community with no obligation whatsoever in any direction, then keep using it.
