Question / Help Rocket League runs fine. Recording is laggy/stuttering.

I'm trying to record Rocket League but I can't get the video to stop stuttering. The game runs perfectly fine while recording. Solid 60FPS and CPU usage doesn't even hit 50%. But when I look at the recorded video it stutters a lot!

What player are you using to watch the recording?
Are you saving to flv or mp4?

If I save as MP4 I'll watch it with Movies & TV (The Windows 10 equivalent of Windows Media Player)
If I save as FLV I'll watch it with VLC.

Either way the video is still laggy.

Reinstalling rocket league seemed to fix it. I will update if anything else happens.

I'd recommend against saving directly to mp4. It's not a reliable format to save in.

Really? If you watch any other rocket league 30FPS videos on YouTube they seem much smoother.

This might be due to OBS game capture lacking an option to slow down and lock the game's frame rate to OBS frame rate. A few other recording programs (fraps) slows down and locks the game's frame rate to recording frame rate for smooth recordings.

Can try limiting the game's FPS but it might still be not as smooth compared to if the game's frame rate is locked to recording frame rate.
