Unfortunately I just have BFG edition which I think runs on different code or something. I know RAGE crashes as well but I haven't currently figured out why this is happening for id games

Would be nice to get a good stack trace from a debug build of doom 3 though, seeing as it's open source. Maybe I'll try that myself some time, though I have a million things people want from me at any given time so it's always difficult to make time for these sort of things

I'd be willing to help out with that if I knew anything about debugging... wish I had some NVIDIA hardware to test this with too, because I know AMD hates OpenGL...

I also wouldn't mind buying you a retail copy of DOOM 3 + RoE to test as well but I'm strapped for cash at the moment.

AMD hates OpenGL? Never ran into any issues with OpenGL on my AMD. Anyhow... do I own Doom 3 to confirm this? Hmmm. Not sure, actually.

*runs off somewhere to check*

I'll get a regular copy of doom 3 or something to check it out. I might also try to compile it myself.

Actually yea, the GPL code is the BFG edition, so I'm not sure.. I did manage to get a retail copy though, so hopefully I will be able to check it out, but it's a bit frustrating that this doesn't happen with the BFG edition. Or maybe the RAGE crash is a clue, but it was almost impossible to debug unfortunately.
