Question / Help Resolution question

So, Im using OBS for streaming (the latest version), and recently put a 6 core cpu in my pc, so i actually get good stream quality now.

What I'm needing to know though, is under video in settings...is it better to set base resolution to 1920x1080 and maybe scale down to 720p or even leave it at 1080p, or is it better to set my base resolution to 1600x900, which is the native resolution of my monitor?

Use your native resolution and then select an appropriate downscale from the drop down menu.

ok cool..i can run the stream at 1600x900 with no problem and no lag...should i still downstream?

Downscaling allows for lower bitrate. But if you are happy with the results, there is no need I guess.

well, of course, im never truly happy with the results lol...but if going with my native resolution will give me the best quality, then that is what ill do
