Hi! I've been streaming for a couple of months now, recently got a nice new computer that can handle pretty much anything I stream at 720p 30fps, but I have a couple questions for the best way to go about streaming different sized games.
For example, I like to have the game as big as possible when I play since I only have one monitor. I usually end up playing games at 1080x720, 1600x900, or 1920x1080 windowed.
I would like my stream to be 720p, so what would be the BEST way of doing that? Should I capture in the native resolution of the game (so I would have to change my capture resolution in OBS each time) then downscale to 720p, or should I just stream at 720p for every game, no matter what the resolution. I haven't really noticed much of a difference in quality capturing a 1080p game in 720p.

Next, my network question. I have a solid 5mbps upload speed. I can stream perfectly fine at speeds above 4000kbps (I don't, but I did once to test my net stability) The problem is when I stream, multiplayer games become laggy if I go over about 2300kbps (less than half my upload)
So my question is this: What do I have to change in my router (brand new one, not old, really nice) or with my ISP to fix that? I would love to stream multiplayer games at 3000kbps because I know my net can handle it, but I don't know what the issue is.
Also, note that my stream bitrate does not falter, while my ingame ping spikes and I lag.
Thanks to anyone who answers! If you need any specific info just let me know.
