Resolution limited at 1280 with cam link 4k

What resolution is your source set to? Cam Link doesn't convert resolutions, it only shows what's available coming in.

Thanks SlrBryan, I have kind of the same issue.
Changing to high gives me 1080p, but I would like 4k if possible (3840x2160).
The official elgato Cam Link 4k documentation says:
"Please Note: The resolution that Cam Link 4K can send to an application depends on that application. For example, Game Capture HD has a limit of 1080p, while OBS can use higher resolution video."
How do I up the available resolution?

If the camlink 4k is getting a 3840x2160 image, it will provide a 3840x2160 image.
It will not upscale a 1080p image to 3840x2160.
Are you using a HDMI cable that can handle a 4K signal?
Is your device outputting 4K
Have you plugged your device into another display device to verify the output resolution?

Select it from the popup in the device properties obs.
You can also use a free app like webcaminoid to verify the signal output from the camlink4k.

For others in the future that might have the same issue:
The Sony a7rIII Supports 4k over hdmi. You have to have it plugged in to a 4k compatible device like the Cam Link 4k.
Then on the A7, on the page after HDMI settings, there is a setting to output 4k over HDMI that becomes active when plugged in to a 4k device, set to HDMI only and 30p. You will lose simultaneous internal a7 recording ability.
Then OBS will see the 4k output under the "High" resolution (remember to set your canvas to 4k in OBS settings).
