Question / Help [Request] What's a good source of truly free music?

Hey there guys.

I'm looking to find a truly free source of music that I can use on my stream. Apparently Jamendo radio doesn't contain exclusively free music (according to YouTube). Next time I stream I might try SoundCloud, although the content quality over there is very much hit and miss. On the other hand, it might be a good way to advertise some lesser known musicians. Anyway, I'm just looking for some good quality free music source. Preferably an internet radio station.

Afaik you still have to at least put a text up that says this music is by ocremix, most of the tracks have it in the title anyway but not all.
http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/ This is a place with lots of okayish/good free stuff.
Monstercat has a formular on their page to get permission (and from what i know they give everyone permission, this is more of a "let us know please") and they also have lots of different music under their name.

Actually, go read the OCRemix licensing terms. They have a number of requirements that must be met before you're allowed to use them on-stream. Including requiring a link to the ocremix.org site, as well as displaying the title on-screen whenever the track is playing, and not being able to edit the ID3 info or filenames (even for neatness/uniformity with the rest of your collection).

Still a good free source, but not something you can just use however you like, either.

Also as a non-free source, Danny Baranowski has said that he's OK with his music being used on livestreams; if you own the Super Meat Boy or Binding of Isaac soundtracks, they make great fill and bump music. His personal site has a number more atmospheric tracks. His bandcamp has more than reasonable prices for his albums (even if they aren't free).

Good to know. There are not very many music sources that are free. Personally I don't even bother streaming music unless I already have explicit permission. For example, I wanted to use Metroid Metal on my stream for something, so I emailed the creator and he said it was fine (but it wouldn't have been fine if I hadn't asked).

These requirements are not actually that big a deal, very easily met.

From their content policies I'm getting the idea that all I need to do is that I need to show the name of the track, the artist, and the text "OverClocked ReMix (http://ocremix.org)". This is basically what I was already doing with Jamendo, so I think I should be good.

Thanks for the suggestion, you all :)
