Currently OBS Multiplat's Hotkeys only work when the window is in focus. This is occuring even when administrator mode is activated.
There should be an option to enable Hotkeys to work, maybe as a toggle for specific hotkeys in the options (ex. [x] Enable This HotKey When OBS Is Not In Focus), when the OBS window is not currently in focus, such as when someone is playing a game in fullscreen.
The issue: Hotkeys are completely disabled if anything is taking focus away from OBS, which is inconvenient for transitions. OBS should have the option to enable Hotkeys to work when the window is not in focus.
Some people may like OBS as it is because it prevents in-game hotkeys from mixing with OBS hotkeys. I think the option should still be there. With companies like Elgato making programmable hotkey pads for streamers for effects/transitions on the fly, this is starting to become a mainstream function that ought to be implemented.
Configuring 3rd party programs like Autohotkey around this limitation has been incredibly error-prone and annoying, unfortunately (at least for me). Something about OBS doesn't play nice with how Autohotkey hooks, and it results in a lot of bugs that go beyond the scope of this recommendation.
On the side, it would also be nice for sources to have the option of global hotkeys, instead of having to set them individually per scene. It's kind of annoying having to hunt down each instance of a source, to assign it the same hotkey as all the other instances, if you have a lot of different scenes for specific overlays.
