Question / Help Replay buffer not recording set amount of time.

For some strange reason, my replay buffer won't record the amount of seconds I've set it to record.

When I set it to 300 seconds, it tends to only record about 51, and when I set it to 600 seconds, I get about 1:45m. It's a little strange. I have 32gb of RAM and didn't have this issue before.

I have recently installed a program to clear standby ram, but I've noticed these replays from before that, so I doubt that's the issue.

Currently on Windows 10 (latest update)
6700k 4.4GHz
GTX 1080 8GB
32GB (8x4gb) 2933MHz ram
7200RPM HDD SATA3

Any help would be great.

Change your rate control in your encoder settings to CQP, set the CQP numerical value to 14.

Sadly, that didn't work. Next recording was 49 seconds. Here's another log.

You are correct, I accidentally only changed it for Streaming, apologies. This fixed my issue.

Out of curiousity, why would this happen now, when I haven't changed the settings for recording in weeks? Is it a windows update that messed it up somehow?

Anyway, thanks a bunch :)

Dang, means I can't record seperate audio tracks anymore, seeing as Vegas only works with mp4 for multiple audio tracks, couldn't get anything else to work. Guess I'm gonna have to find an alternative now. :/

Thanks for the help though.

Oh that's just a built in converter. I see, well, I've got one of those set up already, guess I need extra time to process videos now though. Hopefully this gets fixed at some point, cuz this is a pretty lenghty workaround (especially with longer files).

So I've tried using Remux. This seems to work now. Hope my replays are saved properly, had an additional capture going, and OBS simply refused to use the one I use for recording gameplay over the second capture mode, and gave me a black screen (and thus ruined every one of my recordings from like, 2 days).

Because the problem with mp4 files is with the underlying file format itself, it's not something we can fix. Vegas being unable to support MKV is something THEY need to address.

Premiere finally added support in version 12.1 after the format existing for over 15 years.
