Repeatable Blue Screen of Death Crash

Hey,

I have used OBS for ages, and on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit it worked flawlessly. However recently I upgraded to Windows 10. It was
working for about a week under Windows 10, but since then, every time I try to run it, I get a Blue Screen of Death crash
caused by dxgmms1.sys.

Now before you go do all this. This is what I've done:

1. I updated windows to all the latest updates.
2. Updated Video driver to latest version (Nvidia gtx1070) 452.06 (latest version)
3. Checked BIOS version is the latest version, it is.
4. Uninstalled OBS, and did a Clean Reinstall of latest version.

Nothing works. I do use a few plugin with OBS, and have done for the past year with no problems. Nothing has changed
with any of the plugins. I can't check the filter settings, because OBS keeps crashing. Since it was working fine with plugins
before this started, it should be working fine after this started, so I don't think plugins are the problem. Existing plugins are

realplugs236_x64_install.exe and vst-realpitch.ini.zip (compressed installers).

OBS Log is at the bottom of this post.

I've googled this problem, and found a solution which basically says do all the above, and if that fails,
do a clean install of windows. Well I'm not doing that just yet. That's a last resort. So I'm hoping you can
provide some info that might help resolve the problem. Love this software to bits, and shadowplay doesn't
even come close to the capabilities of OBS.

Hope you can help.

Thanks

Neon

OBS-Log - Going through the past logs since installing Windows 10, There are some things that stand out. The first log I'll post, seems to be when it
was working properly, as the log was full of information. After this, logs were not complete. I'll post the complete log from before the crashes, and two variants
after the crashes started, then finally the latest log. All dated:

Bluescreen that requires computer reboot is a symptom of bad drivers or hardware issues. Since you made sure you're running the latest drivers, it seems your hardware isn't stable. Research around dxgmms1.sys results in either GPU or RAM issues. There may be an incompatibility between your mainboard and the GPU, or it may be the GPU isn't getting proper power from the power supply. In case it is a RAM issue, run a memory test. Use the Windows memory diagnostic tool.

It's not an OBS issue. No app can produce a bluescreen on proper hardware.

I have the *exact* same issue. I game on my RTX 2060 and have my second monitor on my on-board Intel HD 4000. This has worked for many years through OBS, Streamlabs, and as of late, StreamElements OBS.Live.

Then one day, boom, firing up OBS results in a Windows 10 BSOD claiming dxgmms1.sys to be the issue.

I've done everything you have and found no solution to this. I even tried rolling back to previous versions of OBS as well as the latest v26rc2, no luck.

My only "solution" has been to disable the Intel HD 4000 display adapter and move my second monitor to the DVI port on the RTX 2060. Unfortunately this has a noticeable impact on my FPS when streaming so I've basically stopped streaming altogether.

Also of note, if I disable the GTX 2060 and only use the on-board video, OBS doesn't crash - it's ONLY when both display adapters are enabled that the system crashes.

As far as I can tell, this started after I installed the Windows 10 2004 update and that was a rather large update so I'm guessing something under the hood in Windows was updated/changed that is now causing this conflict.

More investigative information:

- If I disable the Intel HD adapter
- Launch OBS on the GTX 2060
- Then re-enable the Intel HD adapter
- Drag the non-maximized window over to the Intel HD screen, it works.

However:

- If I try to full-screen OBS by dragging it to the screen edge, BSOD.
- If I close OBS and try to re-open it, BSOD.

But if I jump through those ridiculous hoops, it works....

Note: I've found that this doesn't consistently work. Sometimes when I drag it over to the second monitor, BSOD, but not everytime.

Sorry for the multiple replies, evidently I can't edit/update a post after 10m.

I've found that this doesn't consistently work. Sometimes when I drag it over to the second monitor, BSOD, but not every time. It seems to be when the "Program" video crosses the threshold. the "Preview" is ok, but once "Program" goes over the line, BSOD.

I think that i found the solution doing this problem appears hahaha. This problem started when i activated the function "Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling" in the display settings in Windows.

Clicking the right mouse button in the screen of the desktop, go to "Display Settings", down the page and click on "Graphic Settings", and turn off this function.

Oh my bloody god!
After so much searching I think this also fixed it for me! Thank you so much.

Such a shame, especially since that option was supposed to help with certain games in OBS.
