Question / Help Remove time stamp

HI
I have googled this umpteen times and can only find 2007 answers that are no longer relevant. I want to remove the time stamp on the start of the video, there is says 'my video.flv' i can't see the need for it. I looked in advanced setting / file name formatting and this just changed the video name. I have looked all over the settings and can't find anything relating to disabling the time/name stamp , it looks a bit naff tbh.

Any help will be much appreciated!

OBS doesn't add a time stamp to videos. Are you sure it's not just your player telling you which file you're playing?

Are you talking about the fact that the file name is the date for instance:
2017-06-07_19-11-33.mkv
2017-05-28_16-20-19.mkv

In Settings, Advanced there is a section called Recording which has a Filename Formatting entry. If you changed this to for instance MyVideo then your videos would look like this:
MyVideo.mkv
MyVideo_2.mkv

The reason that the default is a date is that most people using OBS do many recordings and don't want to risk getting them overwritten so the date and time for the start of a video is always unique and therefore no chance of overwriting.

You can also just rename the files from Windows Explorer and call them what you like.
