Reference copied source groups modifying contents

I'm trying to make a group of sources reference copied to different scenes but if anything inside the group is modified in any way it's modified across all scenes, is this how it's supposed to work?

I had it not doing this before but I have no idea how anymore since I started reworking my scenes.

Yes (and no)
If Properties, filters, Audio levels, etc. are modified, yes it will reflect across scenes
If Position, Scaling and Aspect ratios are modified, no

Things like "Position, Scaling and Aspect ratios" are the problem, they are all carrying over to every scene and also the show/hide of particular note is also changing across all scenes.

After installing OBS on another device I've concluded this is just how it works.
Is there no way to change this behavior? As it is I think it's kind of stupid, as it's basically no different to nesting scenes.
