Question / Help Recordings very choppy?

Hi All

I'm trying to use OBS to record FIFA 16 gameplay, and the results are very choppy. In game i'm running very smoothly but when I watch it back, the lag is bad.

I tried a few tutorials on YouTube to get it smoother and if anything it made it worse.

Would anyone advise how I can get my recordings as smooth and high quality is possible?

Running a game without vertical sync or a frame rate limiter will frequently cause performance issues with OBS because your GPU will be maxed out. Enable vsync or set a reasonable frame rate limit that your GPU can handle without hitting 100% usage. If that's not enough you may also need to turn down some of the video quality options in the game.
