Recordings aren't the same

I have a very recent problem with my recordings lately that i thought was Vegas but noticed that it wasn't. I have old clips that have no issue in either playing in media player or having a non glitchy and intermittent black screen when thrown into Vegas. What I've noticed just playing the clip normally on media player, it always starts off not showing any picture but audio is playing, then finally the game is shown but its frozen for a couple seconds then finally into the full clip. ive had several of these clips recently as last week (October 10th,2024) . i didnt have enough space in my E drive (my drive made for videos) so i moved them to my D drive but even then i went back to old clips that were from my D drive and they worked fine both in Vegas and media player. it's just these recent ones, i haven't touched anything since i first set up OBS other then it's recording path, haven't had an issue with my settings or anything till now. ive tried playing clips from my D drive same issue as if i had the recording path to my E drive. i don't know anymore, any type of suggestion helps i kind of need my OBS recordings to work. if you need any more info ill be sure to get to you as fast as i can.

also another thing the videos do is they have a black screen then go to a green screen then back to black then the clip plays, im going to try to put an example in here to see what im talking about (EPILEPSY WARNING)
the recording seemed fine when i put it through youtube to upload but to edit is a nightmare and to play it back in windows seem to not work right audio is fine btw just video that its wonky for some reason

The first frame of the video should be an I frame. Might want to check & see if there's a P or B frame leading off.

Vegas doesn't seem to display frame info, at least VP17 doesn't. I use Avidemux for lots of tasks, it also displays the frame info or you can use FFMPEG.

From what you described, it sounds like the first available I frame is a few seconds into the video, this would cause the video to be blank until Vegas or the media player is able to hook to an I.

so i put the video into Avidemux and it cut out the whole beginning part where all the funky stuff happens and it says it cannot go to previous keyframes but it does show where the example video begins to work properly, and it says it does have an I frame at the beginning leading after a B frame then some P frames here and there

that makes sense is there a way to fix this in OBS or do i have to do some odd work around with another software? if i can make OBS work properly from here it would make life a tad bit simpler

Did you recently update any drivers? When I had this issue, I was encoding with my GPU & it was a bad driver.
matter of fact i did. updated the amd drivers for my gpu recently.. i knew something was up i didnt know if that was it might roll back my drivers and see what happens when i record again. ill keep you updated on what happens. and also check my keyframe intervals if that doesnt work and use avidemux for my clips. thank you very much for the help!

ok so after rolling back to update 24.8.1 for my AMD GPU Drivers it doesnt have that same affect on videos, its back to normal. although now i cant play COD without update 24.9.1 but thats its own issue. hopefully another update comes out that fixes this. might have to put feedback on AMD for them to find out about it or something. Thanks for all your help though really appreciate it!
