Recording stutter but 0.0% rendering/encoding lag?

I want to use OBS Studio for recordings but almost every recording has constant stutter. I have almost no frames missed or skipped when I view stats.

Things I've tried:

Force 120hz on main display (I have two displays, 60hz and 165hz)
Force high priority to OBS Studio and nvcontainer processes
Change recording mode to simple and indistinguishable quality

(This is a problem I've had for many months, but I was able to resolve in Streamlabs by forcing high priority in that app.)

I am here to report the same thing. I have a single monitor, Dell S2417DG 144Hz G-Sync, but I cap my games at 60fps for recording. Sometimes the video just pauses during playback while the sound continues and other times the sound just stops while the video continues. NO lag/stalls in the log. I am using a Tiamat 7.1 V2 headset but I assumed the system would downmix to stereo for OBS. Maybe that is the audio issue but what's up with the video?

Using CQP 4, key frames 1, b-frames 4. Can I handle that? Yes!

I can grab the log the next time I start OBS, going to bed right now.

I have almost exactly the same monitor as you. I've read online that its something to do with multi-monitor, different hz setups or perhaps G-Sync. It's an issue that seems to be unique to OBS Studio, and has been ongoing for many years.

first set your monitor 120hz !!!! 60+60=120 not 144 :) obs put your extra frames on stream and your stream not smooth! :) smooth stream only with 60,120,180,240 hz not 144hz :) if 2 monitors one 120 other 60 u can make custom resolution etc with small tools CRU ( custom recolution utility )

Jack, I have my games set to 60Hz, v-sync on, and they stay pegged at 60fps 99% of the time (thank you nVidia). Audio doesn't skip either. In other words, everything works except OBS recording it properly. I am set in OBS to my native resolution (2560x1440) and 60fps.

52rpm, I only use one monitor at this time. I do not have a second one connected, but the OP does.

Also just thought of something. I have an Ae5 coupled to a Razer Tiamat 7.2 v2. Maybe OBS isn't downmixing 7.1 or something. I use VoiceMeeter Potato also, and it handles the 7.1 flawlessly. Maybe there's a way to downmix to stereo there. All I can find are upmix options though.

I believe I have exactly same thing.
Recording Forza Horizon 5.
Have tried so many settings and configurations.
Even set game settings so that GPU runs 60-70% load and still constant stuttering.
OBS - what I'm aiming for is CQP 24, what is not too demanding I would say.
