Question / Help Recording sound issue (Video included) and how can I improve the quality of the video

Hello,

I have a few profiles setup and when I am recording with OBS, the sound is very weird.

I am using a 7.1 Headset the G930 which is perfectly fine but I am unsure what is wrong with the videos output sound.

Here is a quick video I made: https://youtu.be/BUqG8yOW1gI

As you can hear, the sound is very weird and I do not understand how I can fix this. The game, other games, etc etc is all fine just recording is weird.

Also, how can Increase the video quality? Right now these are my settings for recording (NOT STREAMING)

Encoding:

Use CBR: Unticked
Quality Balance: 10
Max Bitrate: 6000 (Not sure if this affects my internet when I am recording and not streaming so I set it higher than my normal stream)
Use customer buffer size: Unticked
Buffer Size: greyed out

AUDIO Encoding:

Codec: AAC
Format: 48Khz
Bitrate: 128
Channel: stereo

Advanced:

Use mutlithreaded optimiz: ticked
Process priority Class: Normal
Scene buffering time: 500
Disable encoding while previewing: unticked
Allow other modifiers on hotkeys: ticked
x264 CPU Preset: Ultrafast
Encoding Profile: high
Key frame interval: 0
User CFR: Ticked

Then everything else below is unticked and not a single tick inside.

Also something else I noticed. I am using AMD's virtual desktop stuff, so instead of 1920x1080... I am using 2560x1440 and when I set that in the video section as my default, the recording puts it too a weird small box instead of full screen, makes it weird looking and cannot be used so I HAVE to use 1920x1080 for the custom monitor section.

Anyway, I hope someone knows the issue because the sound is horrible.

Kind Regards,

The problem is you trying to use a 7.1 sound output in a system that only handles stereo.

Some games may have true support of 7.1 surround, and some USB sound device can support 7.1 audio.

OBS is probably unable to capture more then a 2 channel stereo. Youtube videos are mostly limited to only stereo i think. Better turn off 7.1 output/converter when watching videos recorded in stereo. (driver/sound headset settings)
