Question / Help Recording problem

Hi, I had a source problem earlier in the month. The error message would not let me record. I changed the encoders to 264 and this allowed me to record. But now when I stop the recording it defaults in the record button to: stopping recording, and caries on the recording and not stopping it. If I click the stop recording button a second time it stops but has not recorded. I have tried all manner of things like, deleting the program and re-installing, downloading an older version of OBS etc., etc., but with no success. Can anyone advise a very frustrated OBS user. I did not have this problem until I updated to the latest version.

 
Why is your base resolution set to 5202x3465 when your monitor is only 1366x768? Set a sensible base resolution and things will likely work better.
 
Hi, Rich, thank you so much for that information that certainly was the problem. I am pretty certain that it was the size of my pictures that gave me this problem. Thank you once more for your very much appreciated information.
 
Hi, Rich, tis, I again, I now have another problem in as much that when I attempt to load my video capture device onto my background it appears in the video properties box but will not show on my main background screen. It is also not behind the background picture. I'm sorry that these problems keep arising it is very frustrating, but I am a complete novice with both OBS and computer technology. Can you advise me of any sort of course or tutorials that would allow me to understand the application a little better? In the meantime could you please suggest any solution to my current problem?
