Question / Help Recording picking up my gameplay audio but not my mic

When I record it shows my mic as working but it never picks it up! When I stream it works 100% fine but when recording a video nope! I want it to be on a separate audio track from my gameplay. I have my gameplay audio on track 1 and Microphone on track 2 and in advanced settings have both track 1 and 2 selected. I use mkv files to record. Anyone else having this issue?
These are my settings:

Are you actually listening back to the correct audio tracks in your recording? If you're using VLC, you have to switch between each audio track -- it does not mix separate tracks together for playback.

I just checked the tracks on VLC and it just doesn't exist, it just isn't recording my mic at all for some reason? I stream and it picks it up fine but when recording it says it's picking up my mic but just won't record it for some bizarre reason

I've never had any sort of issue with the audio track just not showing up -- if you have multiple audio channels checked in the recording tab (which it shows you do), then OBS should be creating multiple audio tracks in the recording.

Just to be sure, you're saying VLC isn't showing anything under Audio -> Audio Track other than Disable and Track 1?

Yes, I checked there and there's only disable and simple_acc_recording and that's it. I have my mic set up and it shows it's picking it up but it's not recording my voice at all. The weird thing is, it works when I stream so I have no idea.

If it's going to stream, then that's an indication that it's being included on the same output track as the rest of your audio, which is not what your screenshot of the Advanced Audio Properties is showing.

Are you sure you're looking at the correct sources? For full channel separation, normally you would have channel 1 as your stream mix, where all your audio devices are selected to go there. Then for channel isolation, you would use channels 2-5 for each separate audio source selected to each individual channel (in addition to channel 1).

Yes it streams fine so it isn't my mic. I'm only having problems when recording it picks it up but doesn't record it. I think that's what I may be doing wrong as from my screenshots my mic isn't on track 1? All I want is for my gameplay audio to be separate from my mic audio for editing purposes.

Can you post a screenshot of your scene sources+mixer, as well as your audio devices under settings?

These are my settings + Scene, sourcers and mixer. As you can see it is picking up the mic but not recording it

There are a lot of things that are confusing me right now. Could you post a log file?

You have a microphone selected in your settings, but you also have an audio source in your scene... yet only one microphone shows up in the mixer.

You only have channel 2 selected for your youtube voice capture, which means it shouldn't be output to stream. That leads me to believe that the mic selected in your settings is what's actually being sent to channel 1, but I would have thought that it would show up in the mixer.

What happens if you remove the microphone from your audio settings page?

I removed it from my setting page and it didn't work. So I re-added it exactly the same as the image above and now it's working again and recording wow, as simple a fix as that LOL.Thanks for all the help, I appreciate it!
