Question / Help Recording Output Lacks Frames

Hey!

I was recording some Minecraft with OBS and I noticed that the preview was lagging. This happened recently because before this the preview was fine and everything was good. But now the preview lags and the output video shows it. Note that I'm not getting any FPS lag in game. I also never changed any OBS settings. When I record I get about 500fps in Minecraft and 250fps in CS:GO.

I have a pretty beefy computer:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz, 4200 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
16Gb of RAM

Since OBS wasn't lagging before, why is it lagging now?

Thanks in advance.

Probably a combination of running without an FPS cap (rendering frames until the system bottlenecks) and trying to record at 1080p100 which almost nobody can watch. Use the FPS cap or vsync options in Minecraft, drop the recording FPS to 60 in OBS, test.

Nope didn't work. I set OBS to 60fps and put MC on VSync. I recorded it and it still had the same problem. :(
