Question / Help Recording Only/Stuttering

I am only recording, not streaming. I finally got rid of the pixelation/grainy crap I was getting, but now my video is choppy. Kinda like a strobe light on the highest setting. I want the highest quality possible to show the beauty of the game I am recording. Please help! And thank you for your time!

I am on Windows 10 with OBS Classic. The problem started when I went and adjusted several settings at once to get rid of the horrible pixelation I was getting. It was really bad before and since the game I am playing has such pretty graphics, I wanted to show that off, but now I get stop motion video with my pretty graphics.

Well I got the same thing when I built my new computer and started using old OBS with Windows 10, switched to OBS MP which fixed things a little bit but that stutter is still there. Also recording with it drops in game frames by about 15 to 20.

Please do, I've been dealing with this since October and I dying to figure it out.
you dont have the same issue sorry.
Lemme test out the MP then and I will get back to you.

uninstall razer synapse or what ever else is hooking your game.

if this does not help, 1080@60 might not be possible with your CPU. try 1080@30fps or even 1080@48fps with the same settings. it should look great and have great performance. other advise would be to watch your temps carefully. those CPUs have a low threshold for temps (somewhere around 65c).

@dping I installed OBS MP and after slight adjustments in various settings, I think I got it. Video is smoother by a lot (only skips occasionally now instead of constantly) and not seeing anywhere near as much artifacts/pixelation/grain as what I started with. Not perfect, but much much better than it was. Not thinking I like the idea of uninstalling the driver for my Naga. This is the same issue I'm having with XignCode3, it also doesn't like razer products and I believe it is unreasonable for a software developer to expect you to ditch your hardware because their code clashes with it.

Don't I know it...7 case fans and 2 cpu fans on a raised heat sink all on max without OC...

I would like some tips on ways to further improve the quality AND smoothness of the video if possible

@Skip Gently from what I have found so far, tweaking is the key. After as much time as I have spent tweaking, I am seeking help to further improve, but the improvements suggested will be more tweaking and it will be more trial and error. Take your own log file and have someone much more experience suggest WHAT to tweak. But overall, the OBS MP/Studio works better than the OBS Classic on Windows 10 for MY machine.

2.7% duplicate frames. still a little high. try 48fps. it will still look smooth it just will not be as smooth as 60fps. Most people will see an increase from 30 it just won't be pushing your limits.

@dping I tried the 48fps, somehow it showed as more choppy than before, but I did get a pretty nice recording by making some other adjustments, just can't remember what I did so here is the log file. I haven't changed anything since I got this one recording. Still see a hitch here and there, but only in intense combat. Also not noticing any pixelation.

That logfile shows 60fps still.

That's what I was saying, the 48fps was noticeably more choppy for some reason so I switched it back to 60fps and tinkered with some other settings. Does the log file not show all the other settings that can be changed? I thought it did and that would be helpful in some way. Whatever I did in the log file I uploaded last seems to have helped a lot.

Yeah, it seems you switched to NVENC encoder. still 1080@60 you could try changing the preset to high performance with that.

And this is where I am confused. I came up with these settings last night and they seemed to work pretty well, going to further adjust the qp till the breaking point then back it down from there.
