Question / Help Recording only about a frame a minute

First time OBS user here, and first time recording games in general. Note I'm just recording not streaming.

So I'm trying to record Life is Strange. OBS is recording non-game activity fine, but when the game starts, only recording about a frame every minute, basically a series of stills, but recording audio. Tried both Game Capture and Display Capture.

Your CPU is not powerful enough to do encoding with that frame rate at that resolution. It's a low end CPU. Lower the frame rate, lower the base resolution, but you will probably not get state of the art recordings with a CPU that weak.

Apropos base resolution. Your monitor resolution is 1366x768. It makes no sense to set the base resolution in OBS to 1920x1080.
 
thank you! As you can tell I'm not exactly technically proficient so it's appreciated, have lowered to 1280x720 and 20FPS, will give that a try.
 
Hmm it's still doing the same thing. I don't necessarily want state of the art, just something watchable, understand if my computer's just not good enough.
