Recording not finalizing intermittently

I am using obs on a mac M1 in a comedy club to record sets. I have the recording saving as mp4 and to the documents folder. For some reason, 5 times out of 10. when the recording which is normally an hour and a half long and around 2.5GB saves to the docs folder. The icon to the right is just a white Piece of paper and not the thumbnail of the clip. It will then say that the video is not in a readable format. The file is a .MP4 and from what I can tell the container for the appropriate storage amount is correct. What could be causing this file do do this?
Is it not finalizing? would it be better to check the automatically remux to MP4?
I'm stumped. If I am there overseeing the booth I don't have any issues. But as soon as one of my techs are there to just press start recording and then stop recording the issue happens.
The mac is left on and OBS is not closed after hitting stop recording.

Any thoughts?

MP4 is a very fragile format, if the end is not written correctly the entire file is unusable. It's far safer to record to MKV or FLV and then remux to MP4 afterwards if you need MP4 for editing or other purposes. That said, as long as OBS isn't crashing, the MP4 should still be saved correctly. A log might provide more info: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/include-a-log-file-if-you-have-a-problem-heres-how.16571/

thank you. I had a feeling the remux option may assist in the resolution.
regarless, I will gather some logs tomorrow evening when I’m there.
