Recording Netflix in 4k, for later Bd Disc burning

Hello,

Like the title says; I have a fairly powerful Machine( not High-End), but still not bad(see dxdiag for details).

I have been working with a resolution of 3840 X 2160 on my Pc without any Problem.
For this recording, I tried several Resolutions 1920X1080 or 2560X1440 and they all have the same problem after some time

I am using Edge to connect to Netflix in 4k, giving me 99% of the time a crisp 4k Resolution to watch(not recording).
I should mention that I tried turning on the hardware acceleration in Edge, which only resulted in a BLACK SCREEN while recording and with the audio still working.

I have been trying to record via Display capture and Window capture since the browser source does not work at all for the file structures like those in Netflix.

The Problem with the other two recording methods is that I can record pretty crisp for about 5-9 mins and then the picture begins to get blurry, sometimes even a little choppy with some delay in it. (my second attachment is my setup) --> Mind you, I tried so many different setups, codecs,...

I should mention that I have the FFmpeg codec pack installed because I worked a lot with backing up DVD's and bd's to my HDD.

I tried using Mp4 and Matroska(mkv) , in both instances, I tried using all the different libx264 video encoders and several different audio encoders but none helped to solve my problem.

I read somewhere that a 4k resolution would need around 8000kbit video rate, but when I tried that the picture gets choppier and blurrier the higher I go. so I thought 6000 should work too for my resolution.

I am an advanced user but I still have my problems with the keyframe interval(frames). I know as a streamer you should set it to 1/0 or 2 depending on your streaming service, but I could not find anything helpful at all about how to set this while recording a 4k movie/series!!

I know 2 gets you a shorter timeframe where the frame has to be reloaded and 250 is around 8,5 seconds reload until you can watch, but what the hell do I do with it in a Movie?? I am not streaming this content and no one will join these videos, so should I let it at 250???

I tried playing around with it but setting it to 1, 0, 120, .... it did not change anything at all.

My Audio is set the same as my Sound card as in 48k and 5.1.

And this here is my Log analysis: https://obsproject.com/tools/analyzer?log_url=https://obsproject.com/logs/aMVOZVTU9gUFRQcj

or my log file https://obsproject.com/logs/aMVOZVTU9gUFRQcj
I also attached it to the thread.

Nothing in there that could help me. Remember I want to be able to structure the recorded files as BD File structure(that's why I chose mkv/mp4) and Burn them to a disc.

I will be grateful if anyone has some tips or little tweaks that worked for them while recording 4k videos;)

Thx in advance for your help

I was looking around the Forum and qhobbes seems to be one to help where he can,
but honestly, your answer feels more like you are trolling me, than wanting to help...

sorry if I misunderstood, but I will surely not call a number that far away for a problem like this...
There are support chats, discord, etc; so the more I think about it the more I feel like being trolled.

sorry if i got it wrong

@cheffchantier - you are asking how to bypass Digital Rights Mgmt and go against Netflix's term of service. In many (most?) parts of the world, that would be breaking the law. And your surprised at the response?

IF you are in a unique location with non-standard terms of service, and local law that allows what you are asking, feel free to let share with this forum. Otherwise it is likely that the more knowledgeable folks who volunteer on this board won't assist for obvious reasons. Though for personal use offline and archiving I totally get the reasonable desire for a local copy and not being depending on consuming bandwidth. But many then share such recordings with those who are not entitled (and haven't paid) to watch the content... hence the cat 'n mouse game with DRM.
Are there ways to bypass DRM? sure. And your post would imply you are more advanced than most
Have I seen DRM bypass requests getting assistance here since I've been around (18+ months)? no

Lawrence do you always treat ppl you don't know that way? Inclining I would, at any rate, be capable of sharing these online with anybody?!
I never cared for torrent or anything in that direction. I clearly stated above that I backed up many of my owned movies; so what conclusion can you take from that?
I can partially understand it, but why the hell bring DRM into this? I don't care about it I want the movies on my HDD to watch without the interference of a shared bandwidth with someone else. But always assuming the worst, you know there are other ways than prejudice, maybe ask them? Just a thought.
But I digress, I am done with this Forum and this Thread.
Thx in a way for the real answer(s), have a nice life.

Why did I think DRM? simple, as qhobbes just posted the link (and has been published over the years), Netflix has its option for downloading movies for offline play. So, your use case makes no sense as described
- for downloading once, and watching multiple times, offline (ex on airplane, etc), Netflix provides its own option. And no re-encoding, so higher quality
- the only practical reason to approach saving Netflix shows/movies the way you mentioned in your original post would be an attempt to bypass DRM
So, in the use case as you've now clarified, using OBS makes no sense and would appear to be possibly counter-productive.
