Recording multiple desktops

Hello,

I am using 2 desktops in windows 10 on 1 monitor. I want to record the happenings on Desktop 2. OBS is recording always what I see on the monitor, so when I switch back to Desktop 1, the recording is also switching do Desktop 1. How to set up OBS to record constantly Desktop 2, even if I switch back to Desktop 1?

This is not possible. Windows does not have a separate video hook to the virtual desktop, so whatever is actually output to the monitor is the only thing that OBS can capture for display capture.

The closest you can use is window capture (if your application works with this method), but obviously this has limitations.

If you're using multiple virtual desktops in order to avoid having OBS show up in the recordings, then set up hotkeys for recording/stop, and minimize OBS. OBS will still operate while minimized, so all hotkey actions and recording will work.
