I'm trying to record locally a 1080p recording that involves me playing a game, and a video capture device (webcam) in the top right corner. My lay out is fine. However... when it comes down to actually recording I'm having issues. I tried 1080p at 60fps and the game that I'm playing lags and goes smooth and back again. I'm not streaming the game to any servers, just capturing locally and somehow my ping is 400+ and the game play is very choppy.
The game is not choppy and playback is fine when I am not recording.. I'm playing Chivalry Modern Warfare in this case. I had the same issues when playing Counter-strike global offensive.
I will list my computer hardware which I do not think is the problem, but I could be wrong.
I have a Core I5 3.3ghz that runs at 4ghz, 2 R290 video cards, a sound card, a web cam, and a separate microphone that's plugged into the computer through the onboard sound. I'm playing the game off of an Intel SSD 240gig drive and recording the video of that game to the same drive.
Do I need to possibly un-set crossfire and then dedicate one videocard to playing the video game and then another video card to encoding and capturing on the fly? What settings should I be using or what settings should I change to in order to ensure that I have both smooth FPS for playing and smooth FPS for recording?
Thanks for any insight!
