Question / Help recording frozen? (recording league of legends help)

Ok so I'm trying to figure out this problem, so When I record something for a test to see if it works (I know it does record) but here's the thing, when I opened my recording my whole thing was frozen and the video wasn't playing for some reason, well I heard the noise just not the actual video itself, I got it to fit the screen and everything. But! It's just a video with sound and it's kind annoying. So any help would be appreciated, also when I record my league of legends fps drops down a lot, can anyone help fix this problem?
so two things:
1: How do I make my recorded video not frozen and so I can actually watch it and not just the sound.

2: And how to fix the fps dropping down.

Also are there any free video editing software for videos like league? That'd be helpful.
 
Yeah the same thing's happening to me, except it would play maybe the first few seconds totally fine and all of a sudden the video would freeze while the audio is fine.
