Question / Help Recording from VHS

I am trying to record from a VCR player using an win10 compliant USB2 video capture dongle but the incoming video as displayed is very jerky (about 2 jerks/second) and it records jerky too. I have been in and out of all settings but nothing makes the jerky go away. The capture dongle works well on DVD input but not on VCR input. The VCR plays perfectly well on my TV. I am using a new 64 bit OBS.

I am having the same problem. latest obs (25.0.8 64bit) on win 10 1909. I am using a gembird UVG-002 capture debice. I also have 2second jerks and sometimes they take even longer. Please help
