Anyone successful connecting a DV handycam to Windows 10 using firewire instead of USB, please?
I can connect, read and write Hard-Drives through the firewire port of my PC so I assume that the firewire port setup is OK.
When I connect a Sony old HC20 to save old mini DV tapes Windows shows the camera up on Device Manager as "working properly".
I then start OBS, choose the camera as the Video Capture Device BUT there is no Audio Input Device related to the camera to choose from and there is no image from the camera displaying in OBS.
If I record any tape the results are black images with no sound.
OBS works well with a USB connection however the quality of the recording is not very good because the original resolution is low and part of it seems to get lost in the transfer and signal processing. The Sony user manual recommends using the firewire connection whenever is possible since the quality of the transfer is much better.
Any help would be much appreciated.
