Recording dramatically increases lag, please help!

I know for a fact that the same problem has probably been mentioned on another forum, but I couldn't find it so I've decided to ask about it instead.

Each time I recorded a game on OBS, it tends to run perfectly normal for about 20 minutes. However, after this 20 minute mark the game begins to pick up an INSANE amount of lag regardless of which game it is, including Roblox of all games. Speaking of which, when I check my performance in a game without OBS open the ping is usually around 50, however (and I'm not exaggerating this is the genuine truth) if I am recording with OBS and it has been 20 minutes, the performance shows that I have 22,000 ping which is clearly an issue. This is all after I have "Optimized" my OBS settings. I'm using a Dell G7 7590 Gaming Laptop (in case this a problem with the device). I will post a log if that is needed.
So, can anybody tell me what I'm currently doing wrong?

Without OBS Studio log (as mentioned in pinned post in this forum) from a Recording/Streaming session, no way to know if an OBS Studio setting, or similar obvious issue is present.
However, none of us, even with OBS Studio log, can tell what else is going on with your PC. Real-time video encoding (which happens when you START OBS Studio with Video as a Source, anywhere, not when you start Streaming/Recording) is VERY computationally demanding. If your computer is busy without OBS Studio, then easy to go into overload situation. How to fix that? it depends

Making sure Operating System is running cleanly, minimizing background processes, etc won't hurt, and might help
Being aware of hardware resource utilization (ie CPU, GPU, RAM, Disk & Network I/O) can make a difference
Being aware that some 3rd party plugins make a mess of OBS Studio log and are highly correlated with network problems (ie streamlabs related)

Being careful to not overload with CPU impacting filters/effects in OBS Studio (ex chromakeying), or impact of certain poorly behaved network drivers (specifically Killer networks has been reported to cause problems with streaming)
