[Recording] Does the encoder work harder if I use higher or lower CQP setting?

Does the encoder work harder if I use higher or lower CQP setting? I'm on laptop and I want to have lower GPU temperature if possible hence the question. I heard that lossless quality = less work for encoder? (recording only)

Lossless quality is high quality, so the encoder works more. Common sense
If your GPU overheats you probably need to give a service to the computer (clean, change termal paste, etc.)

The encoder always works the same, no matter the CQP setting. CQ 30 is the same load as CQ 15. It's the general processing, transforming and analyzing of the video that uses up computing resources, and this always takes place. Not the removal of detail controlled by the CQ parameter. The removal is just cutting some data. In contrast to this, it might be the higher the motion the more load is on the encoder due to how h.264 works internally, but this is only a guess.

Lossless is putting huge load on internal CPU bus and on your hard disk, so it's not clear if you save something. Usually, recording lossless is not working out as expected.

Is your complaint directed to me? I really don't see anything insulting in my post.

No, the OP wrote insulting me for no reason. Probably he mistaked my signature with an actual message to himself.
I think a mod or admin removed the post.

Ah, makes sense. I don't understand people who ask a question, then get angry if they don't get the answer they wanted. They waste everybody's time with that.
