I'm trying to do a simple capture on my new laptop but it is not working the same way it worked on my old laptop
my old laptop had a resolution of 1920x1080 and I simply added a display capture with default settings and clicked start recording everything worked great- I could play back the mkv file in any media player (e.g. Windows Media Player or VLC) and i can see the entire screen that was recorded
my new laptop has a much higher display resolution, 3840x2160 (I also have to set the "change the size of text, apps, and other items" in windows to 225%
I installed OBS and creaed a simple display capture with default settings
I can somtimes see my entire screen in the preview window of OBS but other times only the upper left third of my screen in the preview window
regardless, after I record and play back the recording on any media player, OBS has only captured the upper left third of my screen, I can't see anything that was on the right half or bottom half of my screen on the recording.
Can you help me understand what OBS setting(s) I need to change in order to record my entire screen?
I do not use an external monitor, and if I lower my windows 10 display resolution it's hard to work in windows
