Question / Help Recording direct from Preview Screen with Elgato?

Hi guys, great program and it's perfect... aside from one thing.

I've noticed with Elgato that whenever you start to preview or record a stream it takes a few seconds to initialise. I appreciate that this is an Elgato issue, but I'm wondering whether there is a way in which you can start to record from the preview screen? I only ask as I don't want to keep having to go and edit the first few seconds off of every video I record, as this is a lengthy process.

Another option - is there a way in which you can record, then pause the recording, then start again with a new video file being created from there?

Both of these options would make my recording process so much smoother and I would love to have such features implemented to speed up the recording and segmenting of footage.

The few seconds of initialization happens for almost all devices. The initialization issue is fixed in the rewrite, though I haven't added support for devices like the elgato in it yet.

Pausing recording is a future planned feature again for the rewrite, but it won't be in right away.
