Question / Help Recording didn't go very well

So I tried to record some gameplay on OBS of me playing Fallout New Vegas. Idk how long I recorded, maybe an hour or half an hour, but I made certain to set it up right, set the FPS and recording to my computer's build, and made absolutely certain to check to see if it was recording or not (which it was). unfortunately, I've checked out the end result, and found a video that runs for about 5 seconds before freezing the video with only the audio running as normal. I'd skip ahead and see something new on my screen from my gameplay, but it would still be completely frozen. Worst part? The video is only 7 minutes long!
Idk if I set something wrong or what, but can anyone tell me what happened?
