Recording Delay

When I do a recording of a game there is a short delay before OBS starts recording, how can I eliminate that delay? I would like the recording to start immediately after I press my start recording hotkey. I've checked the "settings" and can't find anything that eliminates the delay.

As a follow up, the short delay is about 15 or so seconds long. There's a short delay before the actual recording begins, the screen is black and then the recording begins in about 15 seconds. Does this happen to everyone?

For me, it's starting immediately. I didn't do anything special to make it work this way, it always worked this way for me. As far as I see it, not even a single frame is lost after recording start.

Thank you for that information, that's very helpful. I can now rule out OBS as the problem. I'll check out my hardware.
