Question / Help Recording Crashes and more.

I am a fan of OBS - well the idea of it because in reality I cannot get the program to work with me.
I am trying to record Counter Strike: Global Offense but everytime I go to end the video the program freezes up and won't even shut unless forced with extreme methods like signing out - restarting etc. I am not streaming, I am trying to save it as a video output.

Even after its shut the video file is completely useless and has not captured any of the recording - However If I do a really short video the program seems fine. Please help?

I am using Windows 10

Okay guys, I solved the problem thanks to some help from Jim!

The problem was in my rendering - I was saving to an external hard drive - (4tb seagate) and it was very very very slow. I started saving videos to my main drive and it was fixed!
