Question / Help recording computer + webcam, but webcam out of sync with everything else

Searched around for the last 2 days trying to find more about this incident, and couldn't find any information directly corresponding to this situation (everything was usually with capture cards and such).

Is there anyway of fixing webcams being recording at the same time as computer screen/window while keeping both in sync?

My specs should not be an issue (8core 4ghz cpu, and a gtx 770 oc edition).

Any leads would be lovely, thank you,

Let's trouble shoot a little...What camera are you using and have you installed it's software and drivers? Not just the windows drivers, Also what resolution do you have your camera set too?

- What processor are you using?
- Are you using a 1 or 2 PC setup?
- How many Gigs of Ram to you have?

Going to test it again tonight -- I tested streaming and there was no sync issues so hoping the same goes with another testing of recording.

Anyways I'm using a microsoft 720p lens lifecam (couldn't tell you the model as it was a gift as in without the box). Yes I've installed it's hardware drivers - excluding the software that's meant for it (as lifecam [the actual application] is known to cause issues with recording with it regardless of using it's software or not). camera is set to 720p (resized using edit scene)

8gbs of ram.

Will return to you after this part 2 testing (as one of the updates might have fixed it)

Extensive testing was pretty good, It unsynched once but that was doing something taxing like webcam with Fully Modded Skyrim maxed out.

But everything else was fine. I'll probably do more testing with various other stressors (rendering, etc.)

Thanks regardless though guys :D -- next year I should be moving to a dual PC setup with a capture card for some things so hopefully that'll be a bit better overall.

You got it and i'm glad it's working out better for you. Dual PC is the way to go!! I will warn you..once you start the dual PC setup, you won't stop...it's like crack, lol ;)
