Question / Help Recording and streaming issues with Minecraft

So my recording is averaging 7-10 frames when I record, but my game is doing 30-40 no sweat. My stream keeps a solid 30, but my game drops to the low 20s range.

My version of OBS is 0.651b & my OS is 8.1
Seems that you have forgotten your logfile with your post. Please go to help and copy the link to the most recent log when you streamed and copy the link here.

seems that you B960 CPU is not powerful enough to record/stream. if you are local recording you can make up for your CPU with bitrate but raising your bitrate and buffer to 10000 and setting your CPU preset to superfast.

Since you dont have quicksync that is pretty much your only option and to be honest, your recording will not look good

but my streams are always solid. It's just the recording that's messed up. i'll try these settings and see how it goes

If the source is dropping frames, especially lower than 30fps, it will be noticable in the stream. you are already at 480p so the only other way would be to try 360p, but most things are unreadable at that resolution.

That's the weird thing though. My stream is just fine with smooth frames. Never dropped frames on stream. Only on recording
