First of all here are my System Specs:

Motherbaord: MSI 970A-G46 Military Class II
RAM: 8GB DDR 3 Domination GT
CPU: AMD FX-8320 8-Core Processor
GPU: x1 Sapphire Radeon HD6850 1GB, x1 HIS Radeon HD 6770 1GB (CrossFired)
Monitors: x1 "32"in. Monitor (Primary), x1 "1"in. Monitor, x1 VGA Monitor, x1 DVI Monitor

OBS Settings:

Video: 720p
FPS: 30
CPU Preset: Superfast
Bitrate: 4000
Buffer Rate: 3500

My question is this:

When I play Battlefield 3, or Battlefield 4 I have 55-60 FPS. However when I record or livestream I get 10-20 FPS.
Does anyone have any tips to help me with my issue? You know besides the common "Get a Capture Card" or "Upgrade your PC".

By the way I do also use DxTory to Direct Show to OBS. However as I've already checked the CPU usage on it, it only uses .07 CPU usage. So we'll just pretend like it doesn't exist.

  • show us a Logfile of your tests
  • test without DXtory
  • try Ultrafast preset
  • lower the resolution
  • do what you dont want to hear
