Question / Help Recording a scene with Elgato HD capture card crashes OBS

I am currently getting into trouble trying to get my elgato to work with obs. I recently watched a tutorial online on how to add it as a global source and I did so. I created a new scene with only the elgato game capture and previewing or recording the capture crashed OBS. What would happen is I would hit Preview Scene and then OBS started loading for about 15 seconds. The display flickered on my tv, and then it looked like the timer started for the recording, but it crashed immediately afterwards. My current bitrate is 391 (based on what the estimator gave for my upload speed, coming in at whopping .46 mbps) and a buffer size at 234. When I analyzed the crash report, it said that my bitrate, resolution, and FPS were a bad combination, even though that was what the estimator told me to put. Video was at 30fps as the tutorial said, and audio bitrate is 96. Processor is an intel i5 (whichever generation came with HP Envy, I have no clue), 8GB of RAM. If there is any other bit of information that would more helpful, let me know.

Ok, so I unistalled the software and then redownloaded it, and it still crashes obs, albeit more quickly than before. Is there anything else I could be doing wrong?
